Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!

One of my all time favorite memories is riding in the car to Shreveport to see Grammy on a Saturday morning and listening to Wait Wait.... Don't Tell Me! on NPR. Mommy would always be reading the newspaper and answering some of the questions, dad would be driving, Thomas usually slept and I enjoyed the simplicity of looking out the window and listening to commanding presence of Carl Kassell's voice. This memory is so warm to my heart.

This memory is especially on my mind around this time of the year the Red River Revel is in Shreveport. This is another one of my favorite traditions. This Saturday morning, hopefully a sunny one, I will be riding in the car looking out the window on the way to Shreveport to attend the Red River Revel, while listening to Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! and being relaxed into peacefulness by Carl Kassell, Peter Sagal and hopefully Mo Rocca.

This time of the year, the changing of the season, and nice sunny Saturdays + Mo Rocca and Carl Kassell + Shreveport + the Red River Revel = a blissful Grace.
